I heard a quote once that the “truly educated never graduate;” I have built my body of knowledge on this principle and hope that all of our students receiving and using this information will never stop their relentless search for the most effective manual techniques to help our clients out of pain.
My journey in manual medicine started as a young high school student who suffered from daily shoulder and neck pain. My love for sports and outdoor activity gave me even more motivation to find a way out of pain. Growing up in a rural area, without many options for health care, I was forced to find alternatives to relieve my pain without traditional medical intervention.
After many years, I developed a rehabilitation plan of my own that included Therapeutic exercise, stretching, structurally based manual therapy techniques and prevention. As a result of implementing these for my own healing my passion for the field of medical and orthopedic massage was “born.”
